Learn to Crochet Course

3 week course - Monday 2nd, 9th and 16th June 6:30-8:30pm | Ilkley

If you're a complete beginner, crocheted before but now need a refresher or tried to learn at home but feel you'd prefer face-to-face guidance this 3 week course will give you a solid base to set you on your crochet journey.

The suggested format can be found below, though this will only move at a pace that is comfortable for everyone.  New skills will be taught each week with practice pieces to be completed at home in-between sessions. 

Week 1

• Learn about hook sizes and yarn
• Create a chain
• Crochet double and treble stitches
• Crochet in rows

Week 2

• Half Treble crochet stitch
• Changing colours
  
• Work in the round
• Create a granny square

Week 3

• Abbreviations and following a pattern
• Slip stitches
• Joining squares

Materials provided in the course:

• Organic cotton yarn (DK weight)
• Bamboo crochet hook (4mm)
• Instruction booklet

If you prefer to bring your own hook or have specific yarn colours you would like to use for your project you are welcome to bring these along.  You will also need yarn to practice with at home.
